Benefits at-a-Glance
Following are brief descriptions of the benefit programs the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Boston Benefit Trusts offer. Click on the tabs above for more information, and see the eligibility rules for information about Health and Dental Plan enrollment outside of Open Enrollment. A RCAB Summary of Benefits is also available for your review.
The health plan is a Preferred Provider Organization (PPO) plan. Employees may visit providers in the Blue Cross PPO network for the highest level of coverage. Employees may also receive care outside of network at a higher cost. |
Employees enrolled in the health plan automatically receive prescription drug coverage, administered by CVS/Caremark. |
The dental plan, administered by Delta Dental, encourages good dental hygiene by paying 100% for regular checkups and preventive care as well as a portion of charges for basic and restorative services. |
The life insurance plan pays benefits in the event of the death of a covered employee. The plan also pays an additional benefit if an employee dies or suffers certain severe injuries as a result of an accident. |
The long-term disability (LTD) insurance plan pays monthly benefits if an employee becomes totally disabled and unable to work. |
Voya serves as recordkeeper for the RCAB 401(k) Plan. Benefit-eligible lay employees of locations participating in the 401(k) Plan are automatically enrolled in the 401(k) Plan with a 3% pre-tax deferral on the first pay date on or after 45 days from location date of hire, rehire date, or date of change to benefit-eligible. Employees may defer their own wages on a pre-tax or Roth after-tax basis into the Plan, up to the annual legal limits. Employer matching contributions are available for benefit-eligible employees with at least one year of service. The RCAB 401(k) Plan features a broad range of investment options. |
The Archdiocese created the TAP Plan in the mid-1990s to provide unemployment benefits to employees of Catholic entities that were not covered under the state unemployment program. Benefits include wage replacement of up to 50% of final weekly wages, for up to 30 weeks, in addition to career counseling/outplacement services. |
